In the WordPress Dashboard, on the Sidebar, under “Settings” click “Privacy”. Then from there. check the box for “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors”. This will stop your blog from being spidered or indexed until you check, “I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Bing, Technorati) and archivers”.

If you want full control over your content, advertising, and customization… Self-Hosted WordPress is the best choice.

Blogspot and WordPress.com have too many restrictions, and neither are good for SEO.

there are a lot of widgets that you can add to wordpress.
blogspot is kind of outdated now.

First of all WordPress pings itself. You can add more ping sites to the program and every time you post it will ping many services.

all in one seo is a good plugin to make things good for the search engines

tweet this, automatically tweets all your posts to twitter.

There are other plugins for broadcasting to social sites

There are adsense plugins that automate your adsense ads.

There are autoblog plugins that can be used to add content to your website such as Wp-robot

The other things you mention, cpa offers and affiliate links are not really WordPress items, but certainly you can add these easily to a WordPress blog.

RockyMTNHi,

The features that are build right into WordPress that are valuable are built in SEO, built in pinging. Plugins that are useful include all in one seo, tinymce, tweet this, xml sitemap, quick adsense and many others, some specific to purposes such as auto blogging.
The nice thing about WordPress is a lot of the important things are built into the shell so you can concentrate on content. Also WordPress is seo optimized so the search engines love it, and to a certain degree it promote itself.

You shout learn HTML first. May be a week, after that it easy to change your blog. No need specific step-by-step instruction.

thats a cool question, I think it is possible, but it would not be easy to do, never thought about installing wordpress on a flash drive, at a minimum you would need the right kind of environment on the drive.

U3 might be a possibility, I know I can output on U3 but providing the test environment that is a different story, this requires some additional thought,
